Why are we called ACE Basin?

 

The basin of the Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto Rivers (abbreviated as ACE Basin, spoken as ace basin) is one of the largest undeveloped estuaries along the Atlantic Coast of the United States. The shape of the area we cover is reflected in our squadron patch, with a star to indicate Cottageville where we meet.

The patch also reflects the Palmetto tree of South Carolina and the three bladed propellor for our three missions: Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education. 

Encircling these images are the Civil Air Patrol core values: Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence and Respect. We wear these on our squadron uniforms with intent and pride.
