Four cadets from ACE Basin Composite Squadron were awarded the Wright Brother's Achievement in the month of October. Recipients included C/SSgt J. Atherton, C/SSgt S. Atherton, C/SSgt R. Atherton, and C/SSgt S. Elson. Also promoted in October were C/Amn A. Hayes, and C/SrA A. Atherton.
ACE Basin Composite Squadron continues to excel with its promotion of ten of its members in the month of September. Six cadets and four senior members were awarded promotions at the weekly meeting in Cottageville on September 29. While promotions are always special, this month's ceremony held extra significance for two of the Squadron's families.
The ACE Basin Squadron welcomed members of the Hiram E. Mann Chapter of The Tuskegee Airmen to the Low Country Regional Airport in Walterboro this past Saturday to share with the Squadron the enduring legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. Presentations were made by U.S. Air Force Veterans James Hampton and Barron Wilkins, followed by a Question and Answer session by phone with Tuskegee Airman Dr. Eugene J. Richardson, Jr. Cadet Senior Airman Kaytie Schweizer summed up what she learned saying the Tuskegee Airmen “showed the power of confidence and perseverance.” A big thank you goes out to Colleton County Treasurer Becky Hill for making the venue available.
